With their backs against the wall they defeated rival Weber State 8-7 and they crushed Western Washington on the final day of the tournament by scores of 16-7 and 20-2. Oregon will face a tough test in Baylor University in their first game of the World Series. "Baylor looks like a well rounded team on paper. I am looking forward to facing off

against a quality opponent" said coach Swartwout when asked about the upcoming game. Colorado State University is the number three seed overall in the tournament and is on the same side of the bracket as the Ducks. Central Michigan is the fourth team in the bracket. The other side of the bracket features top ranked Penn State University as well as Virginia Tech, North Carolina State and Arizona State University. When asked about the World Series coach Tlougan said that "All of the time and dedication has paid off...this team has the opportunity of a lifetime in Florida. Yet, opportunity is akin to potential and potential is nothing is baseball. Potential is about the future and baseball is about seizing the moment. Carpe Diem Ducks".The Ducks have improved on their finish every season and the team is looking to take the final step this season. Coach Swartwout is cautious when talking about a National Championship. "You have to take this thing on game at a time. If you don't beat the team in font of you, it will be another long year of waiting for an opportunity that may never come again..This is a very confident and talented group of players and if they all do their jobs then we have a great shot at beating anybody. "We have been waiting to get back here all season long and we have to be careful that we don't let any opportunity pass us by. I don't think we have played our best baseball yet. I am hoping that some players can step up that this group can realize their potential" The Ducks will face off with Baylor on Friday at 3:00 at City of Palms Park.
